Premier League predictions for the 2022-23 season.

The Champions

Manchester City and Liverpool have both been the strongest team in the league for the past 5-6 seasons. Pep and Klopp have both dominated the league every season, the same thing will be seen again this season. Both the two clubs have strengthened their already powerful squads.

Although, it does look like Manchester City will win their third consecutive league title this season as they have increased their squad depth with the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Julian Alvarez. Erling Haaland will be another big addition as they have been in need of a number 9 and he fits the bill perfectly.

They won the league without an out an out striker, they are sure to win it with a lethal number like Haaland.

As for Liverpool, the likes of Fabio Carvalho and Ramsay are fantastic additions to the squad. Darwin Nunez their 100 million striker will definitely be bringing goals and troubling the premier league defenders, but we still don’t think it will be enough to beat Manchester City, we will surely see them second in the table.

Champions league spot

The first two Champions League spot will be in the hands of the two best teams in Liverpool and Manchester City. As for the third spot, we feel Tottenham Hotspur are the favourite. Antonio Conte is a world class manager and he has shown it again and again with the likes of Chelsea, Inter and now Tottenham.

He showed his class when he took them to the Champions League spot last season. We will see more from him this season with how good their transfer business has been this season. Richarlison will be a big addition to the forward line, Ivan Persic will be instrumental both with his skills and his experience. Barcelona loanee Lenglet will be important in that defensive line and will improve his game considerably.

We might even see them pushing for the 2nd spot in the table and will probably be giving the league leaders a hard time. Let us not forget that they also have Harry Kane and Son with them.

The fourth spot for the Champions league will be an interesting one as there are three top teams that will probably be battling for that spot Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. The Gunners have improved slowly but consistently under Arteta and they have been decent in the transfer although they have missed on both their big signings in Raphinha and Lisandro Martinez.

Manchester United on the other hand coming back from an underwhelming season but they have a new man on the hot seat with Erik Ten Hag. The Dutchman has been excellent with Ajax in the Eredivisie and in the Champions League. Although, they need to add more into that squad after losing many first team players for free. They might not make it to the Champions League next season through the Premier League but we might see them clinch the Europa League

Chelsea on the other team have Tuchel who knows the team and his players know him and his tactical style. They have lost the likes of Rudiger and Christensen but the addition of Koulibaly is huge. He is a strong defender with immense amount of experience. Raheem Sterling is another fantastic addition to the squad, he will always give the team 15-20 goals every season. We will most definitely see Chelsea in the top 4 with already such a strong and secure squad. Let us not forget this team has a new owner who has to make a mark so there are definitely some more signings coming in.

The relegation trio

Every season we see three teams getting promoted from the Championship to the Premier League while three go down. There are many teams that have been underwhelming last season, many who stayed up just but the teams that we think that will go down are as follows:

Fulham are one of those teams who never stay down for long but neither do they stay in the Premier League for more than a season. We think it will be the same this season. They have lost Fabio Carvalho to Liverpool and Anguissa to Napoli. They have replaced them Palhinha and Andreas Pereira but it will not be enough.

Marco Silva is a very good Championship manager but not a Premier League manager. This Fulham team is more of a one trick pony. They will rely heavily on Mitrovic’s goal and if he stops firing like he was firing in the Championship then they will be in trouble.

Bournemouth: The Cherries are back in the Premier League but it looks highly unlikely that they will be staying up this season. The Last time Scott Parker was in the Premier League he went right down with Fulham. They have not strengthened their squad and they cannot rely on their players from their Championship season to keep them up.

Solanke might have been excellent in the Championship but he has failed to impress again and again in the the Premier League. They have some good talents but not enough to keep them up, there has to be some more investment in this team for them to stay up and the Manager needs to show some grit.

Everton: This might be a big gamble from our side but we might see Everton go down this season. Frank Lampard has done an excellent job at Everton but he needs some signings and just bringing Tarkowski will not be enough.

The loss of Richarlison will be noticed further down the lane and other squad players like Jonjoe Kenny might be vital. If they want to stay up then they definitely need some reinforcements. Dominic Calvert Lewin is still very good but his injury record hasn’t been very encouraging.

They need a strong character in that midfield who can control that midfield and another winger to trouble the opposition. They will have to do more in the transfer window if they want to stay up with Frank Lampard.

The team to look out for

Newcastle has shown what a new rich owner can do for the team. After Steve Bruce was relieved off his duties, Eddie Howe came in and made some fantastic signings and worked wonders with his team. From the brink of relegation to a safe spot, he has also made proper use of Bruno Guimaraes and found the perfect position for Joelinton.

With the addition of Sven Botman and Matt Target, the defensive line looks more than solid now. The manager has shown his class with Bournemouth and with the funds and players in his disposal, he will definitely be targeting to finish higher than last season.

The likes of Saint Maximin and Callum Wilson will thrive more this season and the flair will be boasted all around the field. We might see the canaries pushing for the Europa League spot this season. The big teams will have to be on the lookout for Newcastle.
